Pat and Will Leighton have owned llamas since 1981.  Pat had previously worked on a horse ranch and went with the owner to see a baby llama.  She ended up buying her and the rest is history.  Pat had experience in livestock from the horse business she was in for over 20 years.  Her passion is showing and breeding.  She also does shearing, training and driving etc.

She loves mentoring new or old llama owners with any problems they may have. Breeding and birthing can be stressful times for llama owners.  Also she enjoys hiking and driving with her llamas.  Lazy Critter Ranch always has llamas for sale to fit anyone’s desire.

Our latest endeavor is breeding suri’s.  We purchased Tapa The Charts in 2006 at the Celebrity sale.  Charter was well on his way to Championship after winning the 2005 Western Regional Reserve Championship and on to the Nationals. winning Reserve Grand Champion Suri male.  Charter received his ROM as a weanling and his Halter Champiohship in May of 2007.  He is a joy to show and handle.

We also purchased M.R.S. Stryker from the Miller’s in Canada in 2007.  We are very anxious to see what Stryker can do for us by crossing him with Charter’s babies.  We also purchased  Bauernheims’s Serena from the Rotter’s and Serena gave us a beautiful suri male by Pure Envy Big and Rich.  We now have three different suri lines to choose from.  A great selection for anyone to choose from….They can be seen on the Herd Sire page.

Pat’s main concern for her llamas are correct conformation, disposition and healthy mom and babies.  We breed for milk production , good straight legs and toplines. 

Pat handles her babies from the time they birth till she halters them at weaning or before.  Our llamas are all easy to handle and are comfortable around people.  We have suri, heavy wool and medium wool animals for sale.

Our goal is to promote llamas and to show people  their intelligence and their loving personalities.  Come by any time and have a cup of coffee and talk LLAMAS!
